Complaint Against Time Warner Cable - TWC Customer Service

I have lost ALL respect for Time Warner Cable. As if the ridiculous amount of money they charge for their services, the frozen pictures that are most annoying and the loss of CBS weren't enough I am now in a battle with them for $150 they refuse to credit to my account. I have been a subscriber for almost 20 years. Somehow during those 20 years my account number was changed - why this happened or when it happened, they cannot tell me. I unwittingly made two $75 payments to the old number. I only discovered this when they kept calling me threatening to cut my service for non-payment. Knowing I had made the payments through my bank account I was able to prove that the payments were made - but to the wrong account. They tell me this is my fault and there is nothing they can do. After many calls to complain the story then changed to they were holding the $150 for unreturned equipment. Now they tell me I never returned a cable box. About 7/8 years ago I requested a new box because the one I had was not working properly. I was told I could either wait for a technician to come to replace the box or I could bring it in and exchange it myself. I chose to exchange it myself. They say I never returned the first box. I ask how then was I able to obtain the new box. They say I obtained it fraudulently. Unless I can produce receipt showing exchange of box they will maintain I basically somehow stole the replacement box. On Friday they called asking for a bill payment in the amount of $196. I said I would pay the $46 difference but since they already had $150 from me I consider the bill paid in full. Today I awake to find my service cut off. Whatever happened to "the customer is always right" or "we will look into the matter but until we can prove absolutely that you are in the wrong your service will remain untouched". They are the corporation but their records cannot tell why I ended up with two account numbers; however, they want me to produce a receipt from 7/8 years ago to prove I returned the broken box for a new one. Is it just me? Please "LIKE" if you find this unfair. Thanks for reading.
