I switched to Direct from Dish because Dish stopped AMC. The worse mistake ever!!! The tech didn't stay to authorize the receiver because Direct wouldn't respond so I had to do it 4 hours later. The receiver freezes frequently. The picture pixelization freezes frequently (they charge every time they come out even tho that was never told to us) today I found out a channel I have been getting (and my guide still says I get) is suddenly not in my package. They seem to do whatever they want as for as charging for channels and repairs because they know you won't break the contract because of the early termination fees. Bottom line: receivers freezes frequently, picture freezes, loose signal frequently and they don't care about the customer. Dish never charged for repairs. Dish had great signal quality and great customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay with Dish.
