We quit Direct Tv and sent the recievers and what they own back. The DVR we kept since we bought it our selves. They told us we had send it back to them, as when we bought it, it was suppose to be leased. Than I explain to this lady how we paid for the DVR out of our pockets. She said she would clear our account and we would be okay. Than got another call on the answering machine, saying to call them. I did call them, and they said they put us in collections for a DVR we paid for. This company is crazy to think we bought our own DVR and want us to just give it to them. I told them if they want it, they can pay us $99 dollars that we bought it for. Why would we give them a DVR, that we paid out of our pockets. Our account was cleared and now they are putting us in collections!!!

Directv is a joke - mike stampfli
Two years ago we got the service and had to buy the two extra receivers for a total of $400 to keep cause they were not included and thats what we wanted. Went to cancel cause there prices are nuts compared to dishnetwork where all receivers are free and need to be returned. Directv says ours need to be returned as well and we lose the 400 or they charge you an additional $400. Along with there insane prices. Our monthly bill was around 190 a month same thing through dish is 66 and after a year goes to $88 and still no box charge. Everyone think long and hard about getting involved in this joke. If you want one receiver maybe not a bad deal as to the service was not to bad. But monthly bill will get to you. And for us to leave and want to come back you get charged $400 for boxes again. I doubt it. They will just keep pissing people off one at a time
