Issue with debit cards

The company has a practice of placing holds on debit cards for the full amount of air fare AND then having airline (s) bill the same charge separately. This can result in a hold on bank funds for "up to" 5 days for the full amount of the air fare.

They cannot (or will not) release the hold. If the airline ticket is highly priced then this can result in a fairly significant amount of money tied up due to their inefficient system.

They do not warn of this (according to their representative) because it "does not always happen" and they are "working on the issue."
