I purchased a Living Social deal for a 2-night stay at the 1890 Williams House in Hot Springs, AR. I have to say up front that time slipped by and I forgot about the voucher until 2 months before the deadline to book (you had to book by Oct. 31 but could stay up until Dec. 31). The proprietor and I played phone tag several times and since I had followed up with email, I ended up resorting to that for communication. The proprietor let me know that there were no more rooms available through the end of the year for the type of Livingsocial deal I purchased (small room vs large room). She said I could upgrade to the larger room (pay the difference) and choose from 3-4 date ranges. During our phone tag and emailing, the rest of the dates became booked. I emailed, asking if I could pay the difference between my Livingsocial voucher and staying during a 'black out date.' (i.E. The fine print had said Oct was not available for the deal). I didn't hear back so I resent the email and the only response was... They were completely booked for the Livingsocial deal and if I'd like, they'd let me know if someone cancels. No mention of the question I posed about paying the difference to stay during a non-voucher time. So I guess I'm out $200 now and lesson learned.
