I booked a non-smoking room for my wife for a short stay in Athens where she was undergoing an operation. On arrival the hotel turned out to be nothing like the pictures and her non-smoking room smelt strongly of smoke and had ashtrays in it. She asked to be moved to a different room but found the situation to be exactly the same. Upset and disgusted she decided she could not stay in this hotel and so immediately checked out. I immediatelty informed otel.com who told me i must contact the hotel to obtain an early checkout receipt. I called the hotel manager but he would not provide me with this and said otel.com must contact him. I have explained all this to otel.com customer services but they are very unwilling to help. I have received no contact from them for over a week despite my repeated requests for information, they just do not reply. I called them yesterday and was promised someone would update me but no-one did. I was left with no choice in the end but to call my credit card company and charge back the transaction. I would not advise anyone to use this company. I understand mistakes can happen with hotels but their lack of service post complaint has been truly terrible. That is what you should judge this company on and avoid it.
