Would not let us on plane, would not refund fare. Almost missed funeral., Nationwide

We were 42 minutes early for our flight, but apparently Allegiant wants you there 45 minutes early. We were on our way to our aunt's funeral and had to pay $250 a piece for one way flights with Southwest after Allegiant refused to let us on.

They lied and said the plane had started boarding, until another passenger trying to get on said that he was talking to his wife on the cell phone and they hadn't even announced boarding yet. They also let two children in line behind us get their boarding passes and get on the plane. Allegiant lied and said it was for a different flight, but I had already asked the parents what flight and it was the same one.

They also lied and said there was an hour wait to get through security. We went through in less than 5 minutes with our Southwest tickets.

They lied and said they would call a supervisor, then started helping another passenger. They basically tried to stall us until the plane left. A supposed supervisor showed up at the same time the plane was supposed to be taking off, but said she was an independent contractor and didn't even really work for them.

Seems like a company that is ripe for a class action lawsuit.
