My family and I stayed one of these villa view rentals (Eagles Nest Villa). They have two others in the area - The Hummingbird Retreat and The Woodland Villa. We would not recommend doing business with these people. We checked out on June 18 and still have not received our security deposit.
Florida law requires that "a landlord must either return your deposit within 15 days of termination of the rental agreement if the landlord does not intend to impose a claim upon the security deposit; or justify in writing by certified mail, to the tenant's last known mailing address within 30-days upon termination of a rental agreement." They are currently in violation of this statute. Furthermore, English law (owners live in UK) require landlords place security deposits in one of two schemes - custodial scheme or insurance scheme. With the custodial scheme, the landlord must give the tenant details of the scheme that has been selected which we were never told.
