I have been defrauded in using the FlipKey service when booking a villa in Bali called Villa in Ubud. We lost 2050$ paying a deposit to the fake villa owner who answered to my booking request on the villa listing in FlipKey.com
FlipKey are telling us that the owner’s email was phished even though it was through a FlipKey link that we were put in touch with the fraudulent agent. They are telling us that we should pursue the owner of the Villa if we want our money back, when it still leaves some really serious concerns about FlipKey’ s security. The owner insists that his email was not compromised. But the security in FlipKey is really bad: everyone can just copy a listing or hack somebody's account on FlipKey to get booking requests and to asnwer to them from their own account.
So when you think you book something with Flipkey and real owner, you might end up with a scammer you will take your money and run away and FlipKey will not have any responsibility over this. And you get no booking and no money in the end of the day.
