I booked a vacation for father's day through Expedia, so my husband and I could go to a Casino in our state and they were the only company that had rooms for the place we wanted to go. Anyways, two days before we are going to leaving my children get this horrible flu that has been going around and we had to cancel.

I called Expedia that night and talked to someone on the phone and told them I had to cancel the reservation, he told me that he couldn't help me because a supervisor had to cancel the reservation and he would make a note of it and to call back in the morning.

I called back in the morning and the man on the phone said there were no notes in the system and that the hotel had a 72 hour cancellation policy and I would be charged the first night. I told him to forget it and keep the reservation. I called the hotel and told them the situation. The woman from the hotel informed me that their cancellation policy is 24 hours and that she would have no problem canceling my reservations without any penalties, but that I need to call Expedia and make sure that they do not charge me.

I called Expedia back and talked to a manager and informed him that I was lied to by their company and that the reservation had been canceled and that if I had any charges on my credit card I would turn them in for fraudulent charges. The manager told me that as a one time courtesy they would not charge me. Expedia lies!!! Never use them or you will be ripped off.
