On 4/28, I took a trip from Syracuse-Newark and from Newark to Frankfurt Germany - booked through Orbitz. Orbitz did a great job informing me of any changes and letting me know about my flight times. However, I did not have very good service from the airlines that I was booked on. Going out from Syracuse to Newark on a United/Continental plane, my carryon was taken from me and it was lost for three days. The flight attendent lied to me and told me that I would be able to get my bag when I arrived in Newark, but when we got there and I asked for my carryon, he then told me that my bag was sent directly to Germany. My bag was dropped off in Newark and never left the airport until my husband spent two days trying to locate it and it was then delivered to me in Germany on Monday. As a result, I was without my medications, my jackets, makeup, camera, shoes and several other things because of that attendent's incompetence. Because my initial flight was canceled due to bad weather in Newark, I was late getting to Newark so Continental decided to cancel my seat on the Lifthansa flight. When I went to board that flight to Frankfurt, they told me I had no seat. I was upset and they did give me another seat. However, my suitcase was not on that plane. So as a result, when I arrived in Frankfort, I had nothing but the clothes I was wearing with me. My suitcase did not arrive until Saturday night and my carryon on Monday. After getting the runnaround from Continental Customer Service and Lufthansa, I have written to Lufthansa by e-mail, however, I don't anticipate any service recovery from anyone based on nobody seeming to care about the inconvenience I experienced for three days on my journey to Europe. Not only did I not have my medications and other personal necessities, but I wasted several hours waiting for the bags to finally be delivered.
