I Booked a flight to Los Cabos, Mexico in September. Its now December and decided to check the confirmation for my flight that was schedule to depart from Newark on Dec 9th. I then realized the site indicated the flight was re-scheduled to LaGuardia New York for Dec 10th at 1:45pm. I received no e-mail, nor notification it had been changed to not just another date, but also another airport! I was told it was due to the weather, but when I checked American Airlines website to see if any other flights were canceled for dec 9th, it only indicated one flight canceled (the one I was booked for), and noticed there was an available flight still available for 9:45am flying out of Newark. I then called Orbitz customer service, and was told I would have to wait 3 hours with the representative, until she would be able to reach an American Airlines representative! Since my vacation had already been paid for, and I was determined not to lose one day of my vacation time in Mexico, I agreed! Waited 3 hours later, and was told by the representative that all the flights on Dec 9th were all fully booked!!! And that AA would only offer one flight to Los Cabos for Dec 10th, the earliest time at 9:45am! Assuming she had already spoken to a representative from AA to get this information, I asked her to just book me for dec 10th from Newark instead of LaGuardia, like they had originally re-booked me for, she then says I need to wait for another AA rep to get in touch with her in order to change my flight. What the F*ck!? This is ridiculous! Not only am I going to lose 1 day of my vacation time, but I will also lose the money I spent reserving a shuttle to pick us up from the airport in Mexico. I am beyond frustrated and completely aggravated that as a customer I am left with no choice but to take whatever flight is given to me. Orbitz needs to get their act together and at least compensate customers for the inconvenience this causes. You would think that as a contracted seller for AA, they would have access to AA representatives sooner than 4 hours!!! This is insane! If anyone knows what our consumer rights are, and whether or not there being violated, please let me know what I can do! Thank you
