Is a major RIPOFF they allow purchase of trip insurance but never gives customer back money

I submitted a claim for trip insurance to no avail. Called Priceline.com. They wanted $50 to cancel the reservation. I paid for trip insurance. Kid is sick. That is a valid claim. Taking kid to doctor tomorrow. Why should i give Priceline private medical information? I shouldn't have to. I paid for the trip insurance in case of ANYTHING that may cause us not to go. Now they refuse to honor their insurance plan so we can have our money back even though I do have a valid reason.

Like others have said. You don't necessarily need to go to a doctor just because you aren't going to travel. What a waste of money! And time! Priceline needs to get a life.

Bad bad bad business ethics.

On top of this, when told that we live on $600/month, the rep says, "I understand but..." obviously they don't get it! If they did understand I wouldn't have to jump through hoops to get the money back. And yes, I'm calling the credit card company now. I purchased the trip insurance and I should have my money restored without argument because I'm not lying about my reasons. Trip insurance is insurance for unexpected events. An illness is unexpected and we deserve the money back without a bunch of runaround.
