We were contacted by Silverleaf Resorts and went in for their initial sales pitch at the Irving location. During that time we purchased a sampler, and they told us we won a cruise (which no one knew anything about later when we questioned it). The cruise was suppose to be free. We also won a get away trip to Vegas which we were not able to take because they never gave us any documentation showing that we won the trip, so they were able to say later on, that they didn't know what we were talking about.
My wife and I stayed there for a free weekend, which was given to us when we purchased our sampler. We later stayed for the sampler week which we had purchased.in the interim, their representatives were calling me like crazy to give them names of people that they could call and harrass. I asked them repeatedly to take me off of their call list. This went on for about three years.
We attended over five of their sales pitch sessions. The second to last one, we purchased another sampler, which we were told we would get a complementary stay as well as banked dollars towards a deed at the time of our choice. When we went in the last time, we were told not only that they were no longer putting the sampler money towards the deeds, but our sampler package was expiring. If we didn't attend another meeting, we would be out of our $1000 and no week vacation. They told us to prevent this from happening, we would have to attend a free weekend. This would be a free weekend since we did our fifth orientation in Irving. When we arrived after our 3 hr drive to the resort, almost immediately the sales people began trying to sell us timeshares. We explained person after person that we were told we could come up for the weekend for free and that this trip was only to show activity on the account. Finally, after speaking with several incompetent managers, the resolve was clear, we were returning home, no refund, no weekend vacation, and no paperwork saying that they would honor the $1000 week we had already purchased.
We spoke to their customer service dept. Countless times and each time they said they would send us documentation saying that they would honor it, but still have not. It has been about four months and we still have not seen anything from them.
