Days Inn
Serious rip off and fraud Ridiculous damages claims!

I wiil never again in my lifetime stay at any Days Inn nor any of it's subsidiaries. I called the Days Inn in this small town called Hastings, Ne 5 days ahead of time to confirm they would have a room avail. I knew they would considering I was going to be staying on a week night.

I specifically stated the I was going to be coming in on the Amtrak and the train is scheduled to get there @ 2:00 am on Tues morning (which would be considered Monday night.) Hastings is such a small town and the Amtrak only passes by @ 2:00 am every night. Most people in that town know that. So when we got the time and details out of the way, I then reserved a smoking room for Monday night and was going to check out Tuesday morning. The so called Manager told me to ring the bell when I get there. I also told her that the train could be arriving anytime between 2:00 and 5:00 am depending on the weather. I then reserved the smoking room and gave her my credit card #.

Now is where everything takes a turn for the worse. When I called, I had also gone to the Days Inn web site to check the prices and other information. It is given that 95% of the year, the prices are the same there, considering there's not much going on in that region. Also, the price for the room at that time online was $45.00/night and even now 1 month later, it's the same. When I spoke to this lady Ann, I stated and confirmed the price was $45 per night and she said yes.

I get there on Tuesday morning at 3:00 am as expected to check in. When I get there, no one's in the office. They don't have someone sitting there around the clock. I then ring the buzzer and wake the Mgr Ann up. She starts to process my reservation and I notice she billed me $50 12% hotel tax rather $45 12% hotel tax. I was too tired at the moment to deal with that, considering I just spent the last 39 long dragging hours on the Amtrak. That's a nightmere of it's own that I will never repeat.

Well, I get into my room and notice it's a nonsmoking. I then go out to the desk right away and ring the buzzer again and Ann comes back out. This is only 2 minutes after I went to the room. I tell her that I reserved a smoking rooma and she had given me a non smoking room. She cut me off rudely and said "we have no more smoking rooms, you need to go outside to smoke". I then stated that she was required to give me what I had reserved and confirmed with a reservation and confirmation #.

What I also did not understand was how the stupid, ignorant lady told me there were more rooms avail, but yet there were only 3 cars in the whole entire parking lot. That's 3 cars for a hotel that has apporx 80 - 100 rooms. I then decided to forget about it and go to sleep. I was having a friend pick me up in the morning anyway.

I get into the room and turn on the air conditioner. With in 10 minutes, the A/C turns off and does not come for the rest of the stay. There was also no remote control at all in that room. I spent 10 minutes looking all over for one. So I guess I was stuck with jumping out of the bed to switch channels on the tv, having to go outside to smoke, having to try to open windows that won't open to get air into the room; considering the A/C won't work.

Now I am very, very disgusted!!! I then go to take a shower and when I get in the bathroom, I start to turn the water on and noticc there's a shower nozzle, but no way at all to get water to come out of the nozzle. I could not believe this. I was then stuck with a bath. I hate taking a bath esp in a public type place. It's about 5:00 am at this time and I had been at this nightmere hotel for about 1 1/2 hours. I planned on my friend picking me up at 11:00 that morning (checkout time); that way I could get some sleep. I was sick and fed up with that place, I called my friend and asked her to pick me up asap; the sooner the better so she said she be there at 8:30. That was fine with me.

I decided by 7:00 that I can't stand being in that room, so I packed what little I unpacked and went into lobby to wait. I also left all the lights on in the room and towels scatterd out on the counter along with the tv running but on mute. I figured if they want rip me off, then at least use up as much electricity as possible. I'm entitled to that.

While sitting on the couch in the lobby waiting for the nightmare to end and for my friend to get there, other friends from LA had called my cell # to ask how I was and I explained to them how I was extremely disgusted with that place and was going to be contacting the corporate office based out of New Jersey regarding the way they conduct business. I noticed PSYCHO Ann was in the office area and obviously heard me. I wasn't displaying it loudly or anything like that.

When my friend gets there, I don't even look at that crazy lady at the desk and just leave my door card on the desk counter and walk out. I had already signed the credit card etc when I checked in, so there was nothing else I needed to do. I didn't speak nor even look at that psycho Ann the whole time I was in the lobby.

It is now the next day and I'm staying at my friends house on vacation. I call my home phone to check msgs and too my suprise I get this msg from Ann stating that there was damages to the room and I need to contact her. She had also billed my card an additional $200 and again for $250. That PISSED ME OFF!

The first thing I did was cancelled every transaction with my bank and filed a claim against Days Inn. I then called Ann and asked what damages was done? She told me that there was a hole burned into the chair and the iron (which never left the shelf it was on) was sitting the chair. I then told her if there was an iron sitting on the chair and it burned the chair, along with that, I wasn't in the room for the last 2 hours and the room was next to the lobby; I then would have smelt the smoke all that time and so would anyone else that walks by. Her lame ass response was "well it turns off on it's own when it gets too hot and is not being used to keep a fire from happening" To me, that contradicts the whole burning the chair ordeal. Not only the iron, but next is Ann telling me that the remote was found in the toilet. I could not believe what I was hearing. This was ridiculous. I knew that this was a fruadulent hotel. I also tell her there's no way I will be paying anything now.

The so called idiotic sounding owner; if you want to call this dumb guy I spoke to that, had called the next day leaving this lame msg on my machine " you better pay the full amount $ 250 or they will sue me and I will have to travel all the way to Hastings from California for the lawsuit" obviously this dumb ass has no clue how the freekin law esp in his state works.

Fact is if he sues me, he has to file it in the state I reside in, which is California and in return, he's the one who will have to travel for the so called suit. Nebraska has that law. I definitely did not pay a thing and never will.

In return, I had filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, anoher complaint with the FTC and with the Attorney General of Nebraska. I also let the Attorney General of Nebraska that I will never again in my lifetime spend a penny of mine in their state on account of this.
