My family and I were going to Prescott Valley for a wedding. Many hotels were booked due to 3 other weddings going on, a car show, and a motorcycle rally. Our original room was cancelled 2 days before us arriving and the manager's had no idea how the room was cancelled since we didn't do it and then the hotel was booked. The only hotel that had any rooms was at the Prescott Valley Motel so my mother-in-law put a credit card to reserve the room. My family and I made the 2 hour trip to Prescott Valley and we went to the motel to check in. We were told that the room was a smoking room. We do not smoke but we wanted to check the room out to see if the smoke is noticable. The door to the room was open so we took a step inside.
We were immediately hit with the smell of dog urine so strong that our nose started burning and our throats started hurting. We were in the room for maybe 15 seconds when we went to the office. We told the manager that the room reaked of dog urine so strong that it burned our noses. The manager shrugged his shoulders and nodded his head. We told him that we can't stay in that room because it isn't healthy and that we couldn't be in the room for even a minute let alone a night. The manager shrugged his shoulders and stated that they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and that either my mother-in-laws credit card will be charged the $63.00 tax or our card will be charged the night instead. We didn't want my husband's mother to pay for the room when she's paying for her own room at a different hotel. My family and were unable to find another motel or hotel room and after the wedding and reception, we made the 2 hours trip back home in the dark of night. Our daughter was upset because she wanted to spend the night in Prescott Valley and have breakfast with her Grandma and other family members but instead, we had to make the trip home.
