When booking a ticket online with Greyhound Canada, take extra care before pressing the 'purchase' button. I wanted to book a 4 day advance ticket (a discounted fare, which is also non-refundable, doesn't tell you until you click on a the "?" beside it) and noticed that at the very end, just before you click on the 'purchase' button, they tag on the following surprise fee: "gift ticket fee" of $18!! The trip itself cost $25, plus tax and this ridiculous gift fee makes it a $45.36! When I called their office, the explanatio is: "You paid with credit card (ticket is for my daughter) and you are not traveling yourself" WTF... How can they get away with that distorted way of reasoning and how can they get away with adding such a huge surcharge to the ticket! I already hated this bus service, but now I want to warn others abaout their rip off scams. Go to the ticket office in person, don't fall into the trap of getting it cheaper when booking online!
