To whom who may concern,
I got lucky probably compare to other customer who also used this vacation package. Eventhough their marketing campaign put me on a trap by not telling me exactly about this package (such as: need to attend on timeshare presentation, etc), but I still get gain from using this vacation. Here is the story.
I've planned to travel to florida on august 11. One day I got called from ramada plaza resort offer me free vacation to florida, 3 days and 2 night complimentary by purchasing their package for the total amount 295 dollar included: 6 days and 5 night split between orlando and ft lauderdale, 2 days universal studio ticket for 2 person and rebate on gas for max $100.
I told them that I don't want to purchase their package coz to expensive for me. Then finally they reduce the price to 239 dollar plus 36 dollar additional for booking fee. After consering everything, I think this is a great deal so I can save money a lot. I take the offer.
After I decide to purchase, I found out on internet, that this company cheating their customer and many complaint about their services. Tired to cancel the reservation and feel that impossible to do cancellation, I go ahead taking this risk.
We went by 5 people. We didn't choose their rent a car coz we travelling by car from texas to florida. Considering also possibilty that they will give us more hidden fee if we take rent a car from them.
On aug 13 we arrived at welcome center in amerihost resort, kissimmee, florida. They asked me if I have a full time job or not. Thinking that my answer will have negative consequency, I became really confusing to answer that question coz all of us are students. I asked them that I just graduated and will get a full time job. They said we cannot give you chance to attend to their presentation and we will loose universal studio ticket. Then I told them that I have friend in our party that has full time job (for sure I lie for this case). Finally, they agree we can attend to their presentation the next day.
Room condition for me was good. Eventhough cannot compare to 5 stars hotel, but still ok for the price we paid. Tommorrow morning we went to their presentation. All of us went together and the salesman taking us for free breakfast in downtown celebtration disney. High class restaurant I guess and we were surprise that the salesman treat us really good. Most of our conversation at that time only telling his job story, his previous business, and his family. We have a great time with this man.
He gave us a tour and showing us many celebrities houses around this area. Short story, finally we came to their office for hearing their presentation.
It was a bad day at that time coz raining very hard. So we thought that still ok to listen to this guy story while we were waiting for the rain stop. Conversation taken abt 4 hours and then finally we say "no" for their offer. We got universal studio and refund our deposit for $20. Just for your information. To purchase universal studio ticket, it will cost u 55 dollar per person. We got 2 days for 2 person which can be used for total 4 person by splitting the day. Total money we save until this point equal to $220 (4 x $55) not include breakfast for 5 person.
On aug 15, we moved to ft lauderdale. We have changed 1 time for the hotel room because we were not satisfied with the room condition. Then they gave us much better room.
Tommorrow morning We have to attend again to their timeshare presentation again at palm beach. The location little bit far from lauderdale. Takes about 30 minutes to go there. Nice place and beautiful beaches with clean water (the best beach in florida site for my point of view). As usual, we reject their offer but they gave us $60 dollar value for dinner at days inn restaurant close to beach. We enjoyed the food and have fun together. Forgot to tell you, free breakfast also included. Total saving till this equal to $280 ($220 universal studio $60 dinner) not included 2 days free breakfast.
There was a good things and bad things from our vacation. The bad things is we almost lost 1 day total by attending to their presentation. The good thing is we saved a lot of money by purchasing their package. Total saving if we can claim the gas rebate more than $380 dollars. For comparison, if you rent hotel room at least you have to pay $50 dollar per night (incl tax) for the total 250 dollar for 5 nights universal studio ticket & dinner (280 dollar) rebate on gas $100 = 630 dollar - Total money you have to spend. We pay 239 dollar 60 dollar for hotel tax 36 dollar booking fee = 336 dollar. Final saving = $ 294.
The secret is we have to think smart how to use their package. Don't accept all of their offer. Read many customer review before you decide to purchase travel package. If we choosed rent a car and bahamas cruise package, maybe we will loose money. Do some research abt motel/hotel rate on particular area.
