About a year ago I signed up for 4 days, 3 nights in Orlando, 3 days 2 nights in Fort Lauderdale and hotel stays in Las Vegas as well as Virginia, all for $228 plus an additional $50 or so when I booked my first vacation.
I tried to book the Orlando trip just 2 weeks ago and when I dailed the Family Travel telephone number I was told that it had been disconnected. I called another number from the brochure they had sent me and got an operator representing the Ramada hotels. I asked her for the Family Travel number and she gave me another number that had been disconnected. I called her back to let her know that the number I was given had also been disconnected. She asked me to hold on and after 5-10 minutes of holding on for her I decided to hang up as she obviously wasn't coming back to the phone.
I then went on the internet to see what I could find regarding Family Travel and I read about some other folks who had received the same offer and were ripped off or either had a horrible experience. I plan to write to the Florida Dept. Of Consumer Services as well as the Ramada Plaza Resorts to request (demand!) a refund.
I will post the outcome to all of this ASAP.
