No better airline - Change reservation

I booked a flight on Jetblue.com yesterday, less than 24 hours later I had to cancel the flight due to an ilness in the family. Went to do this online and saw there was a fee. Decided to call Jetblue & get customer sevice and see if they could help. The service in the name must mean "How can we get more money out of the customer" because that's all they were trying to do. I explained the situation to the first person I spoke with and to cancel the flight I placed less than 24 hours ago was $50 and the difference they hold until I fly again with them, to move it to another day was $100. The original flight cost $83, so to cancel leaves me with $33 to apply to another flight and to change costs me more than the flight. Now $83 may not seem like a lot but every dollar counts right now there were still seats available on the same flight for the same price and you would think an industry that's struggling to get customers would go out of their way to please the ones that they have. I tried speaking with a supervisor and he was worse that the first person I spoke with. THis company and their employees have no idea what customer service is. That's fine, I have a lot of friends & business associates and we do a lot of traveling. Rest assured neither they nor I will use Jetblue again. The only way to get through to these companies is not use them anymore & tell everyone you know the same.By the time they get it, it'll be too late
