I purchased a American Airline (www.aa.com) Ticket (RT DFW to Bangkok, Thailand) thru Expedia (www.expedia.com) the cost $1,412.30, with Expedia Travel Insurance for a travel date 6 January return 23 January. My Expedia It#129 240 248 393. I had to cancel my reservations for causes out of my control. I contacted Expedia, they said for me to contact American Airlines. I contacted American Airlines and was issued a verbal voucher 001 770 320 7994, of my $1412.30, $270.00 was going to the airlines for cancellation fees of which $1142.30 was on a voucher and could be used for travel else where, where American Airlines travels.
I contacted American Airlines 4 Nov to make reservations to see my folks for Thanksgiving gave them the voucher number (mentioned above) and they said, that meant nothing that I had no credit at all to use the money that there was no money and basically I lost all my funds.
I contacted Expedia and got the same crap. I have been "RIPPED OFF", I had no control over the cancellation, explained that to Expedia and my reason did not fit Expedia cancellation policy for my insurance claim. WTF.
I have to take one last trip on American Airlines, of which I will be wearing a shirt I will have made that states "I GOT "RIPPED OFF" BY AMERICAN AIRLINES & EXPEDIA! Go to usacomplaints.com for details. Oh, the letters for the shirt will be "BIG".
When will we as consumers have a say so, this is just plain theft, money was stolen from me and I tried to do everything to safe guard myself buying insurance, talking on the phone with American & Expedia, and getting sorry Mr. Myers there's nothing we can do.
