This is not so much of a complaint as it is the experince I am having with Ramada. I want it understood I AM NOT and HAVE NOT ever been associated with them other then with the following report or maybe having stayed at a Ramada Inn on occation. Time will tell if this turns out to be a good or bad experince. But I beleive we all need to tell the??? Good and the??? Bad of both sides.
I received a e/mail (which was not requested) from Ramada Plaza.in fact several telling me I needed to reply and a last time e/mail stating I would lose the chance to get in on the offer.
I replyed. Being old enough and having been around the business world for 60 plus years, knowing the way people work the business now days, (lets face it the days of service our over, it is money now) I committed myself to one of their packages. Credit card and all.
The package was for a total of $398.00 with small fees $38.00 processing. They explained the tax and $50.00 returnable fee at hotel. All this I understood. Even the time I would need to take for the time share to get the free tickets to Universal or Disney's.
I requested an extended time frame to take all the trips. Normal are with-in 18 months. But due to health reasons I requested 36 months in which they agreed. Also I ask if I could just pay a portion of the $398.00. They agreed and charged my credit card $199.00 and the balance payable at time of request to travel. 60 day advance notice.
I received my packet. Read through it and noticed they had only allowed 18 months for the trips to be taken. Also I had thought this would include tickets to Sea World but than this may not have been said. So I was not concerned with that.
I called them and had apx. 5 to 7 minute wait time. Talked to a rep. And he said he would get tie 18 months changed to 36 and would send me a letter to that effect. Allow 10 days. This was fine. Questioned him about Sea World and told that was not an option. I agreed as I may have been mistaken.
After reviewing some more and lets remember all this is with-in the 3 days allowed after receiving the packet to return it or cancell the travel package. I called them again this morning and told them I would like to cancell.
I was transfered twice, put on hold for up to 15 minutes and was given a sales pitch one would or should expect.in all about 50 to 55 minutes total. After all was said they agreed to refund the charge but allow 10 days with the credit card company. To my surprise this young lady (Margie) was as nice as I could expect.
In turn I also was or tryed to maintain my self also. I explained I had heard so much bad, read so much bad and with my health I just could not afford to get into something where I was trying to relax and have one big hassle. Margie ask how did I know one way or the other. I don't but I can not take the chance. Did she understand, yes but disappointed I did not chance my mind.
To add to this I was offered a 3 day 2 night no charge trip in the future at my convenence.
If in the next 10 days they do or if they do not follow up as they said I will up date this comment (book). As far as the credit card. Spoke with them and they said they will assist me if my account is not credited with-in the 10 days.
This is not an add for them nor a complaint. But fairs fair and lets see where this goes from here.
