Ramada Plaza Resorts Orlando/Ft. Lauderdale Vacations
Consumer fraud rip-off with false advertising by telephone mail & video to get my $ & failed to deliver the promised results

October I was contacted by a Ramada Plaza Resorts representative regarding a "FIRST CLASS" vacation/cruise package. Since I have been a member of Club Ramada for many years and was led to believe that this was an affiliate, I trusted what I was being told! They charged my credit card with $698.00 for a down payment. BIG MISTAKE!

Later I booked the vacation for January 9th and my credit card was charged the balance of $698.00.

When we arrived in Ft. Lauderdale to pick up the rental car at the Alamo Rental. We were told that what Ramada Plaza Resorts had reserved for us to start this "First Class" vacation in was a Chevrolet Metro. Just what 2 mature adults with luggage for a week would want to drive on a "First Class" vacation. We wouldn't even fit in the car!

The Manager at Alamo was very nice and stated that they have many complaints from Ramada Plaza Resorts and that she wished that Ramada would be more forthright with their clients. We declined the car rental. Rented one on our own and drove to the Ramada Welcome Center to see what rip off they would try.

We went to the Welcome Center and were told that we would be staying at the Ramada Hotel where the Center was located. (The Ramada Hotel was a very tired hotel on State Road 7 (441) directly off the Florida Turnpike. It is listed in the Traveler Discount Guide Hotel Coupons for $49.00 a night for 1-4 Persons).

Next, we were told that they had made an appointment for us at 1:00 PM the next day at a project on Singer Island near West Palm Beach, Florida, about a one hour drive from Ft. Lauderdale and when we showed up for that appointment they would give us the rest of our coupons for the cruise, etc.

This was nothing like I was told on the telephone or the package I received in the mail. When we told her the package we paid for (a "First Class" vacation) was nothing like what they were trying to give us, she said that we had to accept the arrangements they had made and we could not get our money back. We told her we were leaving to call our credit card companies to get credits and she said they would not give us a refund.

We used none of their services and intend to do everything possible to get our money back!
