Delta Airlines, Delta
Delta Airlines Atlanta Delta employees were rude, dismissive, rolled their eyes at me, and didn't care to help AT ALL. Ended up costing me over 2k!

I just wanted to warn everyone who is thinking of "flying Delta".. As they are trying to monopolize the airlines and make it the "only way to go" and I can be quite honest... I would rather "not go at all" than to deal with the incompetent, rude, upsetting nature of Deltas "employees".

This is how my story starts:

I received an email stating for a great price I could fly round trip from Norfolk Va to Atlanta... So being from Georgia originally, I jump on this offer... The trip down to Georgia started off okay. Until Delta informed us (after we were already on the plane) that there was a maintenance issue (a landing light had to be replaced) and that it normally would be a 5 min job except that they (the airline - DELTA) doesn't have a maintenance crew available at the airport in Norfolk (How comforting eh?) and that it would be close to 45 minutes before the maintenance crew would even ARRIVE. Once that was actually said and done (Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:15 and actually ended up leaving around 8:30) - the rest of the trip there was okay.

On the way back (or trying to) was a NIGHTMARE.

We got stuck in a traffic jam on the way to the Atlanta airport to fly back to Norfolk, cutting us VERY close to the "cut off time" for checking baggage. We got there a MINUTE after the check in time was allowed (for baggage). I explained the situation to the customer service rep (a short girl with dark hair) and she said there was "nothing that could be done, but to check with one of the other customer service people to see if they could put me on another flight". She seemed extremely uninterested and actually kind of annoyed. I figured she had just had a bad day..

Well I'm visibly upset at this point because obviously I can't just "leave" my baggage there and jump on the flight. So I go to yet ANOTHER customer service representative, a tall black man, sorry I didn't get any names, I was very upset) - who acted irritated with me, I was explaing the situation and he goes "Okay - stop and tell me the details" and puts his hand up like to "shush". I was thinking "Are we in preschool?!" I start to tell him again and he says "What is the PROBLEM?". By this point, I can't believe hes treating me like this... So I tell him I need another flight, bleh bleh bleh... He looks at the computer (Didn't seem to look up anything at all) and says "Sorry we're all booked out the rest of the day, but if you come back tomorrow, we MIGHT be able to get you on a flight tomorrow).

Well thats all fine and good. But I absolutely couldn't stay in Atlanta that night. I ask him if there are any possible options, (at this point I'm basically begging him), he ROLLS HIS EYES AT ME, and says "There is nothing I can do." and TURNS AWAY.

So at this point I'm very upset... I go over to the counter at NorthWest. And start speaking with someone there and this lady was so helpful and nice about getting me on one of THEIR flights. But heres the kicker -

She says "There are still seats available on Deltas flights to Norfolk tonight according to my computer"

So the customer service person for delta not only treated me like a piece of DIRT. He also lied to me because he couldn't be troubled to look up the flight information and help me.

When I sent an email to Delta complaining, even their response doesn't seem to care too much. It just tells me that if I want to - I can reschedule the flight and use it for travel somewhere else in the future. Now - PLEASE tell me WHY would I want to do that. And furthemore, they didn't even ADDRESS they problems I had with their customer service. They didn't even CARE.

I don't know when people started feeling they could treat others like dirt, but apparently this is a Delta policy, ESPECIALLY at the Atlanta airport.

Needless to say, I'll never be flying Delta again.

Oh but. I did get a flight out. Unfortunately it ended up costing me 2300 dollars for me and my sister to get on it. And my ticket I had previously purchased with Delta. Was obviously useless.
