The Clarion Hotel in Allentown PA is a nightmare! I booked 3 rooms for 2 days. They stated that this hotel was a 10 minute drive from Dorney Park and that's why I chose to stay there with my family. It was in fact 30 minutes away from Dorney Park. When I arrived at the hotel the bathroom was dirty with bugs in the tub. The rooms were very dirty.
I went to use the indoor pool it had too much chlorine and everyone was complaining that their eyes were burning. I called to request towels and it took 2 hr and serveral phone calls to get towels at the pool. I went out and returned to this hotel and found my key would not open my room.
When I asked the hotel Manager what happen she stated that someone in my party requested that. No one in party had requested a room change. Everyone in my party was horrified because we had our personal belongings in the room we now did not have access to. We were not even in the hotel for the entire day.
This Clarion hotel is in desperate need of repair. The manager and her staff at this location are very rude and unprofessional. She was very disturbed by my request and stated that she can't wait until the hotel becomes a five star hotel so that she would not have to deal with people like me.
When I went to check out she refused to sell me Dorney Park tickets. Everyone else who was checking out was able to purchase Dorney Park tickets. Then when I requested a receipt she refused to give me one. I explained that I wanted a receipt and she said that I am not entitled to one. The local police had to come for this manager to give me a receipt.
When I got my receipt my sister who did not use the parking lot because she did not have a car was charged for it twice. My brother who did use the parking lot was also charge twice. It was a nightmare at this place and it took all morning to deal with this hotel manager. It seemed like she did not want to do anything for my party.
I just made a few simple request. There were many people waiting to check out & many people approached me with their horror stories about their at this Clarion (in Allentown PA). One woman stated that her reservation was deleted and when she finally got a room that it was dirty. Another woman stated that she was given a one bed room for 7 people and they made her daughter carry a mattress up several flights of steps. They really need to get their act together at this Clarion in Allentown Pennsylvania. There are many other hotels in that area that will most likely provide basic courteous, respectful, hassle free service.
