Booked and was charged a"flight hotel " package After having problems trying to select air phoned and was told "we no longer do air" Cancelled and was stilled charged Orlando Florida

Attempting to book a "vacation" at Universal Theme Park in Orlando FL. Priced many packages. Went to the Universal site to book, followed web instructions and booked stay. Was instructed that flight was included but would be chosen after hotel was selected. Completed information including credit card information.

When flight choices did not appear to be an option, I phoned the number on the web page. Was told that Universal "no longer did air". Immediately told the agent I wanted to cancell, explaining that if I went to the hotel section of the web site to book the hotel stay the price was very different (hundreds of dollars) and explained that I only booked that trip because it included airfare. She said she would cancel the reservation and I would not be charged.

I then went to my online banking and saw that I had been charged for a package that was not available. I then again called the number on the screen. This agent said" oh you should alway call us rather than book online" then there is no confusion! Stunned I explained that I do so much online, including booking an entire trip to Europe where I never had any problems.

The only way I was able to salvage anything at this point was to book the hotel stay with the agent. Otherwise I would have had a hold placed on my funds until they returned the funds in 14 to 21 days as they informed me.

I still cannot beleive that a multimillion dollar company cannot update their website to reflect that flight and hotel packages are not available.
I cannot beleive that they prefer you to call rather that book online as I do for all my vacations.
The price factor is even crazier. The flight and hotel package that was offered was inline with other packages. To charge that amount for just a hotel stay, when if you went to the same site and booked just the hotel was about 500.00 less, and then to get charge more to stay due to the fact that I could not afford to tie up 1200.00 for 14 to 21 days.

Universal theme park should have better standards. And when they make a mistake they should fix it, not tell you we'll return your funds in 14 to 21 days for booking a package that we offered and in not available.
