Do not ever use the Planigo website to book a hotel!
It is an automated site that is based in Monaco. That should be warning enough. I used them to book a hotel in Perpignan in France this summer. They sent a response, which to the careful reader, ie me, made me believe that I had hotel room booked.
On this basis I booked a flight. A day afterwards Planigo came back via email to say, 'oh no we dont have a room' and offered another room in a hotel further out of town and at three times the price. As a result I could not take the flight as I could not pay triple the cost or risk arriving at Perpignan without a room booked when the excellent Visa photo-journalism event was in full swing.
Key point - Planigo clearly do not have direct access to hotels online booking system since they purport to be booking rooms at hotels whose own websites show they are fully booked. If you try booking the same hotel with Planigo you can easily get the impression that a room has been booked.
In fact Planigo do not make clear that all they are doing is making a very tentative enquiry to a hotel that might possibly have a room. Disgraceful. Do not use them whatever you do! Please!
