I booked a hotel room in New York City through Priceline.com - they charged my credit card. I am going to New York on vacation in July, never been there before. When I got the name of the hotel, I found out that it does not have air conditioning. I have a heart condition and cannot stay in a room without AC - even without my heart problem - it would be very uncomfortable in mid July to be in a room with no AC.
I asked Priceline to switch me. I was told that AC was an amenity - I think its a necessity, like a bathroom... They should warn bidders that some of their rooms are not air conditioned, before taking $500. I think this is a total ripoff as I can't stay in that hotel, it could kill me.
