Failed to fufill contract to pick me up on my wedding day Ripoff

I chose Adventure Charters for transportation on my wedding day, October 18. I found them on the internet and spoke with a representative over the internet. I chose them because of the low rate I was quoted.

The contract stated that ADVENTURE CHARTERS was to first pick up the groomsmen from their location and bring them to the church. From there ADVENTURE CHARTERS was to come pick up myself and my bridesmaids less than 5 minutes away from the church. After the ceremony, ADVENTURE CHARTERS was to take the entire bridal party from the church to the reception site.

The groomsmen were picked up on time and brought to the church. My ceremony was to begin at 4:30 pm. At 4:25 pm the shuttle had not yet arrived to pick me up. As I stood in my wedding dress with my bridesmaids waiting, my mother called the church to find out if ADVENTURE CHARTERS had left the church to come pick us up. She was told that the shuttle was sitting in the church parking lot. With no time to spare, my bridesmaids and I scrambled into various cars to get to the church on time.

After the ceremony, ADVENTURE CHARTERS took the bridal party to the reception. The shuttle SMELLED terribly. It was our wedding day and my husband and I were determined to enjoy ourselves and have a good time. We figured we'd deal with these problems later and continue on with our special day.

When we returned home 2 weeks later after our honeymoon, I gave ADVENTURE CHARTERS a call to complain. I was told that the manager would get back to me. Several days went by and I had not received a call. After many phone calls to ADVENTURE CHARTERS, my husband was told that it was basically our fault. If the shuttle was in the church parking lot prior to the ceremony, it was only 5 minutes away and I (the bride) should have called ADVENTURE CHARTERS so that they could rectify the situation. My husband was also told that the shuttle driver had been asked to go get alcohol after dropping the groomsmen off at the church. The driver assumed the plan to pick up the bride had been changed because he was asked to make a stop to get alochol. ADVENTURE CHARTERS offered us NO COMPENSATION.

I don't feel that it is the bride's responsibility on her wedding day to make phone calls to companies that contracts have been made with and money has already been paid to. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT PICKING UP A BRIDE ON HER WEDDING DAY! Also, the shuttle driver was not asked to pick up alcohol before picking up myself and my bridesmaids. AFTER the ceremony we asked the driver to make a stop.

I feel that ADVENTURE CHARTERS handled my wedding day very poorly. The treatment we received after the fact was even worse. After some time, ADVENTURE CHARTERS would not take my phone calls. I wrote to the Better Business Bureau stating that I wanted a refund. ADVENTURE CHARTERS then offered a 50% refund. I refused this. I feel that I deserve a full refund.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND ADVENTURE CHARTERS to anyone. Unless you'd like to be late for your own wedding.
