United Airlines
Unsympathetic to Hurricane Katrina victims

Due to personal losses from Hurricane Katrina, I had to cancel a vacation in 10/05 leaving out of New Orleans, LA. My United Airlines ticket was paid by credit card and by a travel voucher from a previously cancelled ticket. When I called to cancel this 10/05 reservation, the agent assured me that I would receive full credit due to the extraordinary circumstances involved. I later discovered that my $150 travel voucher was declared void. After 6 months and much complaining, the United Airlines customer services center sent me an offering of a $100 trael voucher.

Airlines in general can be difficult to deal with, but I feel it is true that some airlines are better than others. I personally have never been a huge fan of United Airlines relative to the customer service I have received from its competitors. This incident suggests to me that while the nation has in general, opened their hearts to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, United Airlines chose to go another route. They chose to squable with me over a $150 travel voucher.
