Ripoff unauthorised withdrawal from my checking account

Several months ago we received a phone call from FLORIDA PASSPORT. They claim to have some free trial for a vacation. We told them to send us information. We never told them they could charge us any amount of money. Nor did we authorize them to withdraw money from our checking account. A few weeks later we saw that our account went into our overdraft protection. After looking into it we saw that they took $149 from our account. We were furious. We never even received anything from them. After repeated attempts to get our money back, finally ending with a letter we got n response and were pretty much accepting that we were going to have to eat that money. However, 2 days ago we noticed that $49.95 was taken out of our account for long distance service. Then we noticed that it had been taken out in December, January and February. We've had unlimited long distance threw our phone company for 4 years, why would we purchase anymore? There was a supposedly verbal authorised check for each month. The company was TELIFLEX. It turns out after a very intense phone conversation with the company that they used our recorded phone call from Florida Passport to verbally authorise the money to be withdrawn. Now they said they would cancel and refund February but we would have to write to get the other money back. Although we did not tell Florida Passport they could take any money, my question is, is it legal to use a recorded phone conversation from another company to get money out of someones checking account without consulting the owner of that account. Namely me! This is really irritating. I contacted the media but haven't heard from them yet. I think that this is fraud and if possible should be prosecuted by the Stat Attorney Generals Office. Thanks!
