Ramada Plaza Resorts
Ripoff will not refund my money

I received the voucher in the mail, and I was skeptical at first. Somehow I decided to call the number and talk to their rep, who was very friendly. The package sounded good, but I wasn't sure. The rep then told me that it was a one time deal, since it was so good, and that if I hung up, the offer wouldn't be available anymore, so I really didn't have the opportunity to research it. I decided to get it, paying $90 down, and around $70 a month.

After two months of drafts, I decided that I didn't want the package anymore because I found out what it really was, and I sent in my cancel request by certified mail. They received it on the 18th of September. My card is usually charged around the 19th or the 20th, and when it wasn't charged by the 25th, I figured I was free and clear of future charges. I now had to wait on my refund.

On Oct. 3, I received a letter in the mail from Ramada that said that they felt they received my cancellation request in error, and to contact them within 48 hours to complete my request. The letter was dated Sept. 28.

I called the number listed on the letter, only to be told that I could not receive any refund because I had waited too long. They said the laws for SC only give THREE days to review something like that. She said she would not cancel my package, but only cancel my draft and extend my time frame for taking the vacation.

I told her that I thought it was very dishonest for them to treat me that way, and that I would tell everyone possible not to deal with them and to throw those vouchers away when they receive them, which is why I am here.

To end this tale, I checked my account today only to find that they authorized another payment of $67.89 on September 29, which was after they received my letter telling them to cancel the draft, and only 24 hours after the date on the letter that I received. So now I am even more angry.

I will be writing them another letter using some of the tips found here to get my money back, and I have disputed the most recent charge to my card, since it was done after they received my note to cancel.

In closing, if you receive any vouchers from Ramada Plaza Resorts, or if you are contacted by them with the promises of a wonderful vacation package worth over $3,000 for only $1,400, do yourself a favor and throw it away. Do NOT fall for it like I did.
