National Parks Reservation Service
Ripoff customers with high prices, charge first perform maybe, hide from complaints, never call back

Introduction: We lost several hundred dollars using National Parks Reservation Services. NPR does not care what happens after they get your money. You got a problem, we put you on hold or say we will call you back. Park Hotel managers have confided that they 'hate' this company and this happens a lot.

They hope we would sue NPR in a class action law suit.

We went to the web to make reservations with hotels in Glacier park. National Park reservations Service came up first implying it was associated with the national park service. We made reservations to 3 hotels and were not informed that we would be charged for the service of having them make the reservations for us at a cost 10% of the total hotel bill.

In our case the hotel bill was estimated to be approximately $1740. NPR charged for making the reservation $174.00 6 months in advance. Any changes incur additional charges. We changed our number of rooms from 2 a day to 3 a day and then back to 2 a day long before we arrived, as friends wanted to go and then could not afford to. This was too complex for NPR to handle.

When we arrived at the park hotel, we found that we had some reservations for 3 rooms, then 2 rooms and then 3 rooms then 2 rooms in respective park hotels.

We called NPR to clear this up and they did not return the call to us or the hotel or any of the hotels we stayed in at the park. We checked each day.

The first hotel Charged us for the third room because it was not cancelled in advance ($115), but they did make cancellations for the other hotels and waived the charges for hotel cancellation as we worked directly with the hotel and were 3 days in advance which the park hotels requires. Through NPR they require 30 days in advance to avoid more charges.

We called NPR 7 times since then. When we left messages no call was returned. When they asked for our email address to send us a copy of the bill weeks again it never came. When Christine talked to us, she said she would get to taken care of and call us back Monday. That time has long since past. When we call now we can only get voice mail.

The hotel told us " do not use this service. Call us direct, save money (10%) get a real reservation confirmation, and the freedom to change reservations quickly and without charge up to 3 days before arrival." Don't get ripped off by National Parks Reservations Services.
