Regal Empress
Ripoff, dishonest, crew, vandalism, creepy, imperial, majesty, regal empress, snooping, luggage

My husband and I just returned from a cruise on the fabulous Regal Empress. We sailed to the Bahamas out of Fort Lauderdale. This was after Orlando and the Summer Bay tour and the endless upgrades and hidden costs, just like everyone else.

When we saw our cabin we did just like everyone and ran right down to the dock to get an upgrade of cabins. We met our chipper little cabin steward and we were on our way to enjoy this phase of the journey. We had already decided that we were going to make the best of our trip and laugh it off.

Right after we got checked in we asked our cabin steward for some pillows, to adjust the air etc. I'm not kidding when I say that for no apparent reason he gave us an uneasy feeling from the start. As a matter of fact the first night after returning from dinner I noticed that my toiletry bag that hangs on the back of the door was unzipped. I commented to my husband that I had not taken anything out of it yet. From that point on we made a mental note of how many lights we left on in the cabin when we left. It seemed like every time we left our cabin he went into it. The second night we were late for dinner and he came and asked why we didn't go to dinner.

When we finally left he was standing outside the door with a bucket and cleaning supplies. He said that he was going to clean our bathroom, I told him not to. We had been ashore all day and he had made up our cabin already in the morning. He was obviously agitated. We were uneasy but there was nothing we could put our finger on.

On the last morning we got up and went to get some coffee and returned to the cabin to pack. I was walking toward the room (my husband was a little behind to finish smoking) I saw that our cabin door was open and his keys were in the door. I really didn't want to walk into the room alone, so I went back and told my husband that Jacob was in our room. (*Remember, this is the last morning BEFORE the time to check out*) By the time we got back he was just coming out of the room and was visibly shaken by our returning so fast. He even asked us why were didn't go to breakfast and then volunteered the reason that he was in our room was to drain the Jacuzzi (You heard right, we got lured into the big upgrade). We were in a hurry to pack, but did both agree that he had no business in our cabin at that time. After we packed we went to the dining room and sat for breakfast. We got off the ship and moved forward on our trip. I had put all of my makeup in our backpack that we carried because I had planned on putting it on in the car during the ride to Daytona. I never got a chance and didn't open my makeup bag until the next morning. When I did, I discovered that my makeup brush (the large one that you use for blush) had bristles cut off of it. It was very strange. One thing led to another and we started examining our stuff and noticed that my husband's belt had been hacked at. But they were strange marks. I remembered that I had these special scissors from the beauty supply that are called thinning shears. We did a text cut on the other side of my make up brush and the cuts looked EXACTLY the same. Then we lined up the teeth on the shears with cuts in the belt and you guessed it, they fit EXACTLY! We have thought and thought and thought about it and we know that the only time it could have been done was that morning when we went to coffee. We also know that the cabin steward is the only one who could have done it. We would really like to know if anyone else has noticed strange things done to their personal property while on this ship.
