Ripoff, Rude Employees

I had been in search for a hotel room in order to take a "mini" family vacation (2 nights). Granted, it was a last minute decision as we unexpectedly got a few days off. I called the Best Western Mayan Inn asking if there were any rooms available. Now I am sure that the gentleman was busy, but that is no excuse for being rude. After asking if there were any available rooms for the next two nights, he said "no" and promptly hung up.

Whatever happened to customer service and treating your customers well? Rudeness seems to be a growing trend, and I am fed up with it. I think that companies must take accountability of their employees. I called the hotel again, and (surprise), I was connected to the same rude employee.

After calling him on his rudeness, he informed me that his supervisor was standing next to him when the initial call was made. After asking to speak to his supervisor, he amazingly enough wasn't there anymore (about 5 minutes after the initial call).

Now I know that this one employee may not reflect the values of Oceans Resort or the Mayan Inn, but I feel that we as consumers need to take a stand against poor customer service, rudeness, and rip offs. I have written a letter of dissatisfaction to Oceans Resorts.

We'll see if we get any response from management or if they will choose to ignore it, and be in essence just as rude as their front desk employee.
