I was called by Agents Travel Network and offered incentives to look at Florida Passport's travel deal and a new long distance company. The company had my bank routing number and sent me the information. I immediately called the number given to cancel and did so. On June 16th, $149.00 was withdrawn from my bank account.
I noticed the lack of money and on June 20th inquired at my bank and they found the electronic check and the company information. The bank then called the company requesting an immediate refund. I was told that a refund would go out that day.
In addition, the person said that it was a good thing I called because more money was secheduled to be taken for the phone company and a third company that I can only guess was Agents Travel Network. I had called and cancelled the two obligations I knew of, but even with cancellation numbers that obviously was not done. I called on the 25th and they said the money was sent on the 21st and to be patient.
I called again on the 29th and was told that the check had been sent out but since I hadn't received it, they would send a replacement check. I requested that it be overnighted and the agent said that was up to the supervisors and there were none available, but that one would call me. No one called.
Today, June 30th, I was told that the check had not been mailed out at all and that a check had been requested on June 21st, but not sent out AND that another check had been requested on the 29th, but could not be sent out until July 5. No supervisors are available to take my call, but one is going to call me.
Meanwhile, I called Agents Travel Network and though they are the company that started all this they cannot help - supervisors were busy, but one is going to call me.
