In August. I made reservations for 3 people to go to Las Vegas using VIPFares. When I got the printout, the time was wrong. I called VIPFares and told them I needed to change the time. Alex Parker said there would be no problem since I had just made the reservations, buy he couldn't change the reservations. They would have to be cancelled and newe tickets ordered. He told me to send them an email telling them to cancel these tickets, which I promply did.
I received a refund on my credit card from American West, the carrier for the flight to LV, but not from AirTran, the carrier for the flight from LV.
Again I called VIPFares and was told to call AitTran, which I did and they said the tickets had never been cancelled. One person at AT said VIPFared had to cancel the tickets because they made them. I hung up, called back, got a different person and explained the situation. She cancelled the tickets, but said I would be charged $150.00, but I would get a credit with them for $172.80 to be used within a year.
When I do get through to VIPFares, they tell me I will get a refund from them and the service charge back from them. Now they tell me to contact the airlines because the airline has my money.
Everyone I speak to there has a strong Indian accent. I asked where they were located and was told Los Angeles. I asked about the accents and he said they had hired a lot of Indians. I asked for an address, a phone number, and a supervisor's name. I was told they could not give out this information. I told him I did not know of a company anywhere in the U.S. That wouldn't do that.
I saw a segment on Dateline or 20/20 about companies that outsource to India. They teach Indians enough to answer the phones and little or nothing else. I wonder if this is such a company. I would like to do more than just complain, but I don't know what else to do.
