Booked impossible flight connection that stranded us at Heathrow airport and cost us extra $ to get home

In April, my husband and I purchased airline tickets to Greece from Vipfares.com. On the return trip from Athens, VipFares scheduled us to fly into London and catch a connecting flight to Detroit. When we arrived in London's HEATHROW airport, the ticket agent told us that Vipfares had mistakenly booked our connecting flight out of GATWICK airport, a completely different airport in London nearly an hour away from Heathrow. The ticket agent was in disbelief that any travel agency would book flights in such a way and said this would be an impossible connection.

With only two hours between flights, we had to claim luggage, go through customs, catch a taxi to Gatwick, go through security once again at Gatwick, and check in. Ultimately we were stranded at Heathrow airport and were forced to pay for additional airline tickets and a rental car to get home. This was almost 8 months ago, and numerous phone calls, emails etc. Have not gotten us anywhere with VipFares. Since this was Vipfares' mistake, the company should reimburse us for our additional expenses.
