Immovable Bad Itinerary

Purchased two round trip tickets to Europe (Multiple Cities). After receiving itinerary I noticed that the very last leg on my return home had only a 41 minute interval between arrival and departure flights and that they were in different terminals.in Houston IAH. That seemed to be extraordinarily brief. There did not appear to be even enough time for the rest room during that time interval. I contacted the Airline, United, several times. Their best was saying that if I wanted to pay a change fee they could help me. These flights were not until October 16 and there were at least two more flights on to my destination (San Antonio) that day. I said that I did not view the easy and simple change to be simple convenience that I should pay for, but an actual "Customer Care" action for a customer. They still said NO and that if I missed the connection I could try space available! With ORBITZ I'd say it was worse! They told me that it was up to United and that 35 minutes was the authorized minimum time allowed and I had 41 so I had no problem! I called them several times and that is what I wound up with! I get the feeling that they think they're doing us a favor to sell us a ticket. With the number of airlines being reduced every year they may have a point! It sickens me!
