Well let's start of by saying I am so pissed off that I'm writing this on the amtrak train to newyork. I am a young single mother no taller than 5 feet and I came to sc to visit family. I got on the amtrak for the very first time and let me tell you it was the absolute WORST travel service I've ever encountered. First the train was an hour late. Being that I'm traveling with an infant (7months) I have a stroller, carseat, carseat case, babybag, and my bag. I wasn't aware that they don't put your suit cases under the train, no you bring them on board with you. So I have all of that but two suitcases. Not only do I have all those bags and things and a BABY, ALONE but they seat me far back in the back of the train. So here I am draging my child, stroller, bags and all back and forth because NO ONE I MEAN NOT A SOUL helps, no attendents, NOTHING. For the money i spent on this damn ticket i would think common courtesy would be sent my way. The attendents are just standing around like they are caught in a horror movie scene. Than one attendent makes a remark like "so much for packing light" are you kidding me! I had to ask the attendents more than 5 times to help me put my suitcase on the above shelves. Moral of my story: Amtrak will never get another dime from me or my family and if you are a single mom doing it alone shell out the extra cash for a plane ticket shit id rent a car before I think about taking another disgusting amtrak train.
