So I just get off the phone with my wife, who is returning home from Virginia with our four children on the train. First of all she tells me how she has had nothing but problems. Something about being able to check bags and poor customer service, but that is not why I am writing this. Apparently, the conductor of the train my family is on in something of a A*HOLE.in response to my wife asking if they could sit near a bathroom he berated her, screamed at her, and threatened to kick them off the train for not being compliant. He even went as far to call security over. The situation continued to worsen as my wife and our four children would not move fast enough for him. Even outside of the train he continued to "flex his muscle" by telling security and another Amtrak employee how he will be throwing them off the train. Meanwhile, my wife is trying to gather their baggage in order to move to the location the conductor directed them. Of course without the assistance of any Amtrak employee. I am at home feeling helpless. This goes without saying, but no one in my family will EVER travel Amtrak again. As fuel costs rise and airtravel costs soar, Amtrak is in a position to greatly increase their riders, but if a company is going to employ people such as this while running a business where questions are not answered correctly and customer service is poor at best I will not be sorry to see Amtrak fail.
