I purchased a plan ticket for my sister to visit for Christmas and the very next day she was hospitalized. She is now in a care facility for an indefinite period. I requested a refund, but was told "we have a policy of not making refund for illness/medical reasons". This seems especially heartless. I had the ticket for one day. All I was offered was another ticket without the $100 penalty. The ticket is useless to me since I rarely fly. It would be the same as not doing anything.
