Target's return policy is not spelled out correctly wich makes it terribly inconvienient for the customer. I purchased some items with a check and decided not to keep them. I went back the next day with my receit and was told they could give me a gift card. This does say this on the receit. However, I did not want a gift card, I wanted my money back. I was told by the associate " you have to wait until your check is cashed and then come back for your cash refund."
Well, this is incorrect. I waited until my check was cashed and returned to Target five days after the purchase to be turned away again! They said even though my check had been cashed, "it would take a few days to work through the system. Come back on the tenth day". So, Target has their money and I cannot get mine. This is rediculous. And what is the policy, wait for the check to be cashed or, five, six, seven, ten days??? The employees don't even know. Not even the manager.
This needs to be spelled out. I also read on the back of the receit that seasonal or clearance merchadise will be refunded at the lower price upon the return. Does this mean even though I have my receit, if Target chooses to mark down Halloween merchandise before I am allowed to return it, will I have to take the lesser price? This is not customer friendly.
It is a very shady return policy. I agree with the other customers on rip off.com. I did not feel like a "GUEST" in this Target store and will no longer shop any of them. As to my return, wish me luck on the tenth day!
