I have been shopping at Target for years (10). I have spent thousands of dollars shopping in their stores. Now imagine my frustration when I need to return an item that has never been opened, was purchased on my Target Card and was under $60.00 and the store tells me that they can't because it was after 90 days. All I wanted was store credit! Not only that but I thought that if I contacted their corporate office and explained the circumstances that maybe, just maybe, an exception could be made for a loyal customer, I was wrong. I received an e-mail from their "guest realtions" department stating "I'm sorry for any disappointment due to our return and exchange policy. As you know, Target requires a receipt dated within 90 days for all returns or exchanges of new and unused items. That's why your Target store declined your return." Well if all I can get is some lame corporate prepared response in "how to deal with this type of scenario" then Target has shown me that I don't count and that all the money I have spent in their stores up to this point means nothing. No wonder why they have a Guest Relations department instead of a Customer Service department because customer service no longer exists at Target.
