Efax
More a credit card scam than a fax service. Online

My second experience with these bottom-feeders recently. Two years ago I signed up for a free month, then tried to cancel two weeks later. They had already billed my credit card for the second month, and it took the intervention of a consumer complaint organization to get it refunded.

This year, I signed up for Onebox, because my husband's company faxes him work orders for the next day's work. No problem for eight months, but last week he got a fax that wouldn't open with Acrobat Reader. I checked it out, and lo and behold, it had an "efx" file extension. My Onebox website account still appeared to be intact, and it showed me paid in full for service from October 12 through November 11. Googled, found that Onebox had been bought out by Efax, and I wasn't pleased.

Then, I discovered that two weeks into my month paid to Onebox, Efax had charged my credit card $10. Never had I authorized eFax to charge my card, and I was furious. Called customer service, and spoke to someone from INDIA! Demanded they refund the $10, and he said he'd submit it for consideration. I told him that after the end of the month I'd prepaid to Onebox, I wanted my service cancelled. Later that afternoon, husband got a call from his office that his faxes weren't going through. THESE BUMS CANCELLED THE ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY, even though I had prepaid through another two weeks.

I've emailed since, because I can't trust myself to stay civil if I have to speak to customer service rep in India, when this country's unemployment problem is staggering.

I cancelled my credit card, reported the $10 charge as unauthorized use, and eFax refunded me $9.60 of the $10. I'm not going to let this drop.

Don't ever give these clowns your credit card info - you'll live to regret it. This company is a skilled and experienced con operation, operating a borderline fraudulent credit card scam that masquerades as a fax service.
