I cancelled my Nextel and switched to Cingular after 3 years of bad service. I called in August to verify when my contract expired. The told me my commitment ended on 09/25/04. I specifically asked if I could cancel my service without penalty after the beginning of billing cycle. They said yes and that's what I did. I ported my number over to to Cingular on 08/26/04 and I paid through the end of the billing cycle.
Now they are trying to charge me a $200 early termination fee even I fulfilled my obligations under my contract. If they don't reverse the charges. It looks like I'll be filing a small claims lawsuit in the next few days to resolve this.
