Ripping me off by charging me $200 for canceling service after 1yr contract is over. Deceptive company tricked and lied to us

Feb I called Nextel to cancel my phone due to bad signal all the time with their phone and walkie
talkie. I was told that it is because I have the cheapest Nextel phone model. I was talked into getting
their expensive phone model instead of cancelling it.

I bought the newest model and bought 3 more phones for half price. I used it for a couple of weeks and got the same problem as the old model. August I called again to cancel the service and was told I cannot cancel it anymore because I have a year contract when I bought the newer phone model. Contract is until March.

They told me that I can put my service into standby for one year where I will only pay $5 not including tax and other FCC fees per phone for one year instead of the original monthly service fee until my contract is over I tried to pay the penalty fee for early termination of contract because I dont want to pay the 3 phone charges of $5 each without using it, but was I was told its gonna cost me more to pay for penalty.

So I payed the $5 standby fee per phone every month and waited until my contract is over w/o using their service. March called them and told NEXTEL that my contract is over so I want to cancel it now. Put me on hold for 1 hr and was told that I cannot cancel it since I put my service on my 3 phones on standby since I bought it, so it doesnt count they only count active service days.

WHAT A SCAM! Nextel told me that I can only cancel it if I paid the early termination of contract fee of $200 per phone. BUT MY CONTRACT IS OVER! I told them to show me where in the contract that I sign that I cannot cancel the phone that I put in stand by until my contract is over. They cannot show it to me. So the the CUSTOMER CARE rep name CHAROLET that I talked to last March 10 told me she will take it out of my bill. I got my bill today March 24 and it showing that they are charging me $200 per phone for early termination of the contract fee!

Can I report them to FCC?
Can I sue this company for ripping me off?
