They promise you can keep your own phone number but neither their representatives (in person) nor efforts at contacting customer service, nor internet information can tell you how

Assurance wireless promises you can keep your own phone number - but completely fails to explain how. I first requested one, but even then could not get the information. Since then, I've asked in person representatives and actively searched internet for this information. I do qualify since being laid off, and it is VERY difficult to keep paying my phone myself. Being very much in the job search, I MUST maintain the same phone number without gaps.
