OLympic Moving And Storage
Ripoff, careless, poor service, no English, bad claims dept

A bad broker (Moving Services - N. Miami Bch) hired these idiots unbeknownst to me. Two non-English speaking guys (very dirty and poorly mannered) came to my house for my move at 3pm (supposed to have been there in the am).

They came with a very small truck for my large move which we inquired about from the get go. I showed them everything in my 3 level home along with my shed and deck that was to be moved. THey made me go to McDonalds before they would start working. Then proceeded to leave there trash in my driveway.

These people didn't bring any tools to the move and said they couldn't take apart my dining room table. They asked if I had a MANUAL for it. HUH? Who does? That was ridiculous. They had to put it in the truck whole (but miraculously came back to me apart). I had to unpack MY tools for them to take apart my other furniture.

They were throwing my boxes - mostly all labeled fragile as I have a lot of glassware. One box was teetering on the back of the truck and they caught it as it was about to fall off. I just knew I would have many broken items by how they loaded my boxes. They were also throwing pieces to my canopy bed around. Which came back to me damaged.

They used an unneccesary 45 rolls of tape to wrap blankets on my furniture (which I got charged for). They spent most of the time doing that!

At 11:15PM (we were supposed to have left that day for our drive from MA to FL) they decided that all my belongings would NOT fit into their truck. (Maybe had they brought tools, the stuff would've fit - hmm, rocket science.) This happened when we decided to move the process along and move the shed and deck items up to the driveway to help them out since they were incompetent.

They said "what is all this?"- or I think that's what they said and I explained that this was the same things I showed them when they got there over 8 hours earlier. THat's when they said they couldn't do it. They said they could "MAYBE" get a truck there on Saturday (it was Monday night at this point).

I said I needed a definitive answer if I was going to wait around for 5 days. They said they couldn't give me definite answer. My power and everything was being shut off anyways - but if they could've said yes to a truck then I would've waited elsewhere. So I had no other choice than to have my father drive a trailer up from FL to retreive the rest of our belongings. That cost him over $800 in gas and hotels.

These "movers" left 2 mattresses, 2 pcs, weed wacker, wheel barrow, lamps, paintings, 12pc patio set, grill, mosquito magnet and other odds and ends. THey made my life hell. We had to pay for another storage garage for those items in FL that cost us over $250.

They delivered our items on a Wed night (after we closed on our new home). THey showed up at 10pm!!! They didn't leave until 2am!!! WHat kind of people do this?! After about 1 hour we noticed items missing, then more items were not there. The man said "they are not missing" - again not good English at all. But yet didn't know where they were!!! Half our belongings were who knows where. OUr stuff was to be stored in Miami and it was not. It was in Jacksonville.

Well come to find out after we called many times, and got treated very rudely several times, that our missing belongings were just in another garage that the pick up people were apparently never told about. Some communication. The "mover" said that whomever delivers the rest would reassemble my furniture when they came back— which was promised to me.

When they finally came back - it was the same guy (2 weeks later) and again I asked for him to reassemble my items, which he was NOT happy to do and had no idea how to do anything! I had him TRY to put the bed together. It is SOO messed up and not together right with screws all hanging out - he swore it was right... HA! Then I realized he was stupid so I told him to leave and me being pregnant would put the rest of the furniture together myself!

Just as I suspected a lot of our belongings were broken. I estimated over $700 worth. Not including what's missing! Also we are missing an entire box -as I also suspected we were - and was told by the "mover" (who said he was also a "manager") that he swore we had all the boxes. We are missing every single pair of shoes my husband owns!

There were multiple boxes opened where every single thing in it was shattered. We're talking crystal and glasses and a 75 year old crystal bowl that was my grandmothers, glass dolphins, pictures, 2 tiffany lamp shades, a $250 neon Sam Adams light, my coffee table glass (which was broken in the old house and not mentioned to me) and my thick nice glass to my china cabinet among other smaller items which WERE packed VERY well by ME with lots of bubble wrap!

The claim department wouldn't get back to us after 2 months when they said they'd call after 6 weeks so we tried calling and they said they'd call us back (which never happened) and finally my husband gets a hold of someone - now 3 months later - and they want to give us a whole whopping $75!!!

They would give us a whole $102 but we need to furnish receipts and pictures for everything broken! Who has that with all their items?! Am I supposed to have a receipt for my coffee table or china cabinet glass? Or my 75 year crystal bowl? Or my crystal that were wedding gifts??? Good god!

When we went to file the claim, that is when they told us we needed to save all our boxes from the broken items with all the moving #s on them. How convenient they wait to tell us that! Like who is keeping there boxes?! Luckily I still had a few but they never required them, and still sit in my garage with all the broken glass in them, as they requested for no reason! The claim dept. People are rude, and ignorant as well!

THese people are clueless, reckless, care free, will screw you any chance they get and moronic and rude! NEVER USE THEM - Don't make the same mistake as I did! If you need a mover hire a large, reputable company - not one of these rinky dink, slum companies that probably work out of a garbage pail! If someone screwed you too, complain here - the BBB won't do anything at all! Make a website too and pass it around to everyone you know!!!
