Our moving agreement with All USA Moving was made via phone and the sales rep, Rosi, seemed very prof. And clear about her co's. Agreement and my needs, made in early June.
I was faxed a simple agreement for moving services from Rosi; she told me to sign and fax it back:
-It stated the price,
-1 mo. Of free storage, no handling fees
-pick up date
-destination state.
Though I was told by her we could pay all in full by credit card, she did not write this on the agreement, but I did on the orig. Before faxing it back which she verified on the phone with me rt. Afterwards.
We moved on June 24 from so Cal. To northern Idaho.
The sales rep. Rosi also said their move included:
-payment in full by credit card - 50% due at pickup,
-7-14 bus. Day delivery,
-excellent wrapping and handling of furniture, incl. Free
-no inventory list needed,
-1 month free storage, no handling fees
-24 hr. Driver notification of delivery time,
-stnd. Goods insur. (no mention that f we made a claim there would be a $2500 deductible!).
Well, the movers arrived 5 hrs. Late on 6/24/04 for pickup (with 8-9 latino guys); hurried us into signing the bill of lading which stated the $2500 deduct.in small print I didn't spot or was told about. The head guy was arrogant and acted more like a knifing gypsy selling at the market than a prof. Mover!
It was also very hot and he had nothing for his movers to drink. He TOLD me to give them juice, fruit, water, whatever I had. We gave the guys bottled water and alot of quality household stuff, very nice chairs, stereo; was going to charity, but I felt for these poor immigrants (like we were once).
But after our goods were loaded and gone to storage with them, lots of trouble came!
We called the mover with the new address in Idaho on 7/1/04 and Rosi told us it would be delivered in 7-14 bus. Days. On 7/7/04, I called again; the dispatcher, mng. And also owner, SHAI FIMA, yelled a lot at me, verbally abused, harassed and Threatened to Terminate our contract and told me to get another mover to pick up our goods, (their warehouse is in Santa Rosa) and also pay him for his time. He was so ill-tempered and arrogant, I was shocked. He wouldn't give me a delivery date...
After many more unsuccessful stressful calls to this same guy, Shai Fima, we finally got our goods on 7/25/04, Sunday morn..
On 7/24/04, Sat. Noon, the driver finally called us to say he was arriving tom. 9am -2pm, and that he didn't want to get our goods re-weighed (as we had agreed with the owner on 7/8/04 via faxed letter).
On 7/25/04 Sunday, (mover now 4 days late past their 14 day max. Delivery schedule) The driver calls us very early, 7:40am, very mad, waiting for us at a nearby weigh station. He said if we weren't there ASAP he'd leave! We went ASAP and he wouldn't make contact with us on our cell ph. For 30 min.! We tried to look for him; didn't know which truck at this huge Flying J Truck Stop. That was a hassle... When we went into the shop to pay for the weigh ticket, it was $7.50, in Post Falls, Idaho, (SHAI, the mover owner, told me on 7/8/04 it was $25.00!) He would rip me off here too. The driver was then arguing with the weigh attendant at the counter to hurry up and called Her bad names...
Finally the moving co. Driver followed us back to our new address with the truck but demanded this before we even saw our goods:
1. I sign the Bill of Lading 'delivery acknowledge'
2. That we pay in cash (bal. Was $1260) or he'd leave ASAP.
He said no visa; that this was not in the contract... Etc. Lying vicious, manipulative and rude! My husband was so mad he went off for a smoke leaving me to get our goods somehow...
I called the owner, SHAI FIMA, to pay by visa as agreed, and he yelled no way, cash only... And hung up on me lying and yelling we would not have our goods otherwise.
So I called the Police out (on my cell ph., thank god for technology), after 1 hr. Of talks, the owner agreed on the ph. With the police to take a check, but also wanted my credit card now! What a scam.
The police officer was a gentleman, but had to leave before the driver began unloading.
As the driver, alone, unloaded all our goods into our apt. Garage he was really mad and Very unprofessional. He unwrapped the blankets on the lg. Pcs. Of furniture before putting them on the unstable, small dolly; it fell over 2x with all our lg. Pcs. Of furniture, damaging edges, tops, sides... He traveled about 70 ft. From truck to garage on the ground floor.
There were so many damages:
Our wardrobe box was 1/2 crushed and deformed!
-Many boxes were damaged,
-1 lg. Box marked VERY FRAGILE - GLASS was all crushed (our $ sentimental wedding gifts from o/seas), looked thrown about on purpose.
- our mattress covers were all torn, edges destroyed,
-bed frame edges scraped, dirty, scratched, dented metal edge
We have moved even overseas 4x and never had broken items or such horrible treatment to our boxes.
This mover is the most unprofessional, destructive, lying co. I have ever done business with.
Please help put this co. On your worst ever mover list! I am still struggling to get my credit co. To honor my dispute for the charges, $2170, and no response yet from the BBB; been 2 months
